Recycle Plastic for a Sustainable Society
Recycle Plastic
Recycling materials has become increasingly important in our society. While some of the plastic we use is sent for material recycling to be turned into new products, the majority is incinerated to produce energy for electricity and district heating.
Plastic is a resource-efficient material that plays a crucial role in our society. It is used in packaging to reduce food waste, manufactured into lighter cars and transport vehicles that help decrease emissions, and used in buildings for improved energy efficiency.
The versatility of plastic is remarkable. There are plastics that are flexible and moldable, while others can withstand heavy impacts. The right plastic can resist harsh weather conditions, strong chemicals, high temperatures in engines, or melt at low temperatures. This multifaceted material can be easily shaped into complex structures for a variety of applications.
Plastic is made from a variety of sources:
- Fossil raw materials such as crude oil and natural gas.
- Renewable raw materials such as recycled plastic.
- Bio-based raw materials including sugar cane, corn, potatoes, wood, and algae.
The industry is in a dynamic phase of transformation. According to IKEM, we will eventually see an increase in plastics made from recycled and bio-based plastics, marking a new era for the plastic industry.
Our Environmental Work
Markskydd i Väst AB is committed to promoting material recycling and developing sustainable, circular processes for plastic usage. Our vision is to transform so-called “ugly plastic”, which is often used in incineration, into valuable, recycled plastic for our products. Through close collaboration with RISE, we strive to continuously improve our production methods and optimize the use of recycled plastic, in Quote to reduce our environmental impact and support a more sustainable society.
We are proud to maintain a strict standard for our suppliers. This means we only use 100% high-quality recycled plastic, which can also be recycled again. Since 2020, all our products made from LDPE (low-density polyethylene) are not only made from 100% recycled material but are also fully recyclable. With our products, we are taking a step toward achieving our goal – a future where all plastic is both 100% recycled and 100% recyclable.
